Anne Swift : An Interview With a MoBiDet--Anne Swift story 8:Anne and her biographer sit down over several days to talk about her days as a Molecular Biological Detective, what drove her, what frustrated her, and what she regrets. The interview happend shortly after her resignation/retirement from her secret life and an FBI scientist and after all this had been revealed to her husband and family.
It should be noted that she actually became involved in one final case a few months after this was first made public.

It takes her through high school, college and graduate school at which point she marries Damon Swift, moves to Florida to be with him as he works of the Space Shuttle II program before they move back to his home town of Shopton. And, the reader gets to see the process that took Anne from a housewife to becomming a secret scientist for the FBI.

Third volume in this series. Poachers from a nearby unfriendly nation are killing protected rhinos in a poor country. A friend, nearly killed by the poachers, begs Damon to do something to help. Then, when the French government sends Damon a mock-up of a space wehhl he finds far too many faults but cannot convince them to fix them in the design. They only want him to build small one-man construction craft for use in space. But, there is something fishy going on… And, it is back to Australia when a wealthy man want to build a real life Tirassic Park complete with about a hundred life-like robotoc dinosaurs. He can;t get anyone to built his pet project, pterodactlys. Actual flying ones. Damon thinks it is possible but the man wants to cut corners on safety and that just won't do! |
The fourth volume in this series. India is trying to launch a space station but their rockets keep exploding. Damon wants to help, but they seem to be stubbornly determined to do it on their own. Then, he is back to Australia in an adventure that sees him trying to help with a terrible pest problem--including a million wild camels--but nobody is enthusiastic about getting "Yank help" yet again. Then, someone trise to kill him! Whn his old employer, NASA, asks Entertprises to be part of a new probe meand to land on Jupiter, Damon says yes, but as the other companies need to back out his participation might get the company in trouble with a Congressional mandate. Finally, there is a short bonus story to round things out.

Two novellas in one book. First up, Damon is invited to New Zealand to try to help them overcome the impending loss of two thirds of their ferry service but runs up against an old foe while making a new one. Not helping is a rather weak politial ally, the Governor of the two-island nation. Next, while trhing to assist the two companies that have been struggling with "hyperloop" runs on the east and west coasts, Damon finds he must test his possible solution but cannot get any assistance or even time on the existing tracks. So, he decides to head for the one place he can find airless conditions along with stable ground… the Moon. However, things go awry which leads him to a discovery that sends chills down everyone's spines! |
Many know of the Pigeon, Damon Swift's first 2-seat airplane, and most have read about the upgrade, the Pigeon Special, but this serien not just contains thost develoment stories, it has one tale about a brand new aircraft, one based loosly on an old and mostly abandoned Russian design, he developes to be used agaist what seem to be marauding Russian gunboars just off the coast of Norway. But, is everything as it seems?

Bur, with only a turbofan for power he test flies it around New Mexico encountering a strange and super-fast all-white jet that seems to want to knock him from the sky. On this trip we find oit the backstories on how he first met Bud Barclay, and then the two of them were rescued by Chow Winkler. |
